3 Ways to Help You Deal
submitted by: Lex

1. Talk to someone. - One of the best ways to help you get through a difficult time is to share your thoughts with someone. Find somebody you feel comfortable talking to and let them know you've been stressed. Afterall, that's what the CBP community is all about! If you can find someone in real life to talk to, just post on the message board. Many times, just venting to someone will make you feel a whole lot better.

2. Take a break. - When you are around the same person 24/7, you're bound to become irritable with them. So take a break from them for a while. Go on a walk, either alone or with someone else. Go to the arcade and play Tekken so you can get all of your aggression out. Go to the batting cages if you need a more physical release. Do something you enjoy, away from your bipolar parent.

3. Get educated. - Learning more about bipolar disorder will help you understand how to live with someone who has it. Your local library will certainly have tons of books on the topic and the internet is teeming with informational websites. By becoming more knowledgeable about why this is happening, you will be better able to cope with living with an affected person.
